Xiao Hu

I received my B.S. in psychology from School of Psychology at Beijing Normal University. I joined the BNU Metacognition & Learning Lab in 2016 as a PhD student. I visited MetaLab at Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging, University College London from September 2017 to August 2018.

My research interest lies in the cognitive and neural mechanisms of metacognition, especially metamemory processes. My past research focused on the illusion in the Judgments of Learning (JOL) process, such as the font-size effect. I am also interested in the relationship between metamemory and different learning strategies such as cognitive offloading. In addition, I have conducted a study about neural substrates of JOLs using MRI technique.
